After World War II, the Škoda Plzeň company used the chassis of the Jagdpanzer 38(t) tank fighter. The prototype should have been built at the end of the war. Other sources claim that the prototype of this partially armoured artillery tractor was not built until the end of 1945. The designation of this vehicle is given as VH 38(t), but the "(t)" marking Czechoslovak designs included in the German armament during WW2 had no justification after the war, so I don't know if this is just a mistake, or a habit of attaching such a marking after this design, or if it is really still a wartime affair. In any case, Mr. Martin Dubánek in his publications has come up with new information according to which the post-war Czechoslovak designation of this prototype was supposed to be "G 16". The prototype underwent comparative tests in 1946 with a Škoda V-6 wheeled tractor and a German-made Krauss-Maffei KM m 11. The prototype was stripped of armour in the upper parts of the fighting compartment of the superstructure. In the front of the vehicle was a compartment for the driver and commander, and behind them were two benches for the six personnel manning the towed gun. To tow the gun, the machine was equipped with a towing device. The crew compartment was covered by a metal canopy, and there were glass windows on the sides and in the front. At the sidewalls and in the space above the tracks, 40 pieces of artillery ammunition for the howitzer of 150 mm calibre could be stored. The vehicle weighed about 10 tons. The company produced it on its own initiative and offered it to the Czechoslovak army and for export abroad. However, it was unable to find a market for the machine and the project was terminated in 2/1949. The prototype ended up in scrap.
