The first aircraft L-159T2 for the Air forces of the Army of the CZECH republic successfully coped with the maiden flight. The first years of the new two-seater aeroplane was 2. August at the Airport Vodochody. The Czech air force ordered a total of three two-seater aeroplanes L 159T2 with a number of modernization on board in 2016 for the purpose of performing military operations and advanced training of pilots. All three of the drones for the 21. the base of the tactical air force in Čáslav to be delivered by the end of this year.
Aircraft L-159T2 with narrow number 6028 flew the test pilots of Aero, Vladimir Kvarda and David Strawberry and lasted 30 minutes. “Aero has reached another significant milestone. Thanks to the cooperation with our national customer acquired the program L-159 of the new improvements. Based on the requirements of Czech air forces, we will deliver another two-seater aircraft, which are capable of meeting the advanced training of pilots and at the same time, they are now equipped for military operations," said president and chairman of the board of directors of Aero Vodochody Giuseppe Giordo.
The new two-seater aircraft of type T2 have completely new front and middle part of the fuselage and a number of significant improvements, mainly in the equipment of a cabin of both pilots and fuel systems, and are fully compatible with the use of night-vision glasses. Each of the cockpits features two multi-purpose display and the new version of the air-VS-20. The aircraft is also adapted for the pressure pumping of fuel. Radar Grifo, commonly used in the one-seater version, is now integrated well into the two-seater L-159T2 as well as a self-protection system (warning of radar receiver and launcher decoys).
L-159 aircrafts currently flying in the service of the Army of the Czech republic, the iraqi army and the american company Draken International. In the past they served the Hungarian army, which is rented for the training of pilots.

The ceremony of the last of the three aircraft L-159T2 (registration number 6038) for the Czech air force took place in the premises Aero 4. June 2019 with the participation of representatives of the CZECH Air force, 21. the base of the tactical air force and Aero Vodochody and in the presence of the certification authorities.
