It was a parallel project with the field howitzer project H 9. Both weapons were created on the basis of an order from the Yugoslav army in 1946. Ammunition for D 10 (and H 9) were originally designed as a combination of German missiles from 105mm howitzer 18/40 and cartridges of Czechoslovak construction. After the abolition of the interest of the Yugoslav party (1949), the weapon was further designed for the original German ammunition. In that case, an extension was mainly considered from L/16 to L/19. The howitzer was decomposable into eight parts. Pulling was possible by hypotraction and mototraction. The promising project was canceled in 1950. The main reason was the use of ununified German ammunition.

Diskuse

Shame about another unnecessarily "killed" project. A similar weapon would find its place in our times.

My honourable colleague,
in my opinion, your sigh is misplaced. Even at the time of its creation it was 550 kg heavier than its competitor, the Italian 105mm m/56 howitzer.

I wasn't concerned about this particular gun. But rather that the trampling of the D 10 and D 12 essentially resigned the D 10 and D 12 to some lightweight, domestically produced, towed howitzers.
