He was born on December 2, 1921 in Teschen in the Czechoslovak Republic as the son of a plumber master. 10/1939 enlisted in the SS weapons and joined the SS-Verfüg.Truppe. campaign in the west underwent the role of anti-tank gunner in the regiment Deutschland. Fighting in Flanders and in front of Dunkirk. In 1941 in the Balkans he was the commander of the cannon in the 3rd Company. in Russia after a few weeks awarded the Iron Cross Class II. battles of Smolensk, Gomel and before Moscow, wounded here for the first time. 01/1942 was the commander of the cannon in 2./Pz.Jäger.Abt./ SS-Geb.Div. Nord at the front in Finland. 20.04.1942 Uscha. From June to December in the officer's course. Decommissioned in the rank of lieutenant SS 10.3.1943 took command of the company in Pz.Jäger-Ersatz.Abt. In Holand. From March 1943 he commanded a platoon in the SS Pz.Gren.Rgt. 21 in the newly built Frunsberg division. 04/1944 after deployment on the Polish front Iron Cross Class I. 06/1944 was in the fighting in Normandy. From 1.6.1944 Lieutenant SS and Commander 7th (Stu.Gesch) Kpn/Pz.Rgt. 10 still in the Frunsberg division. He managed to increase the score of destroyed enemy tanks. 8/19/1944 German Cross in gold, later Silver Badge for tank combat 2nd degree. He drew attention to himself as he broke through the siege from the boiler at Falaise. At the end of 1944 a defensive battle in Aachen. 1945 deployment at the front near Berlin. Here in February on the bridgehead Blumberg successfully led a counterattack at Sallentin and despite the injuries remained with the unit - Knight's Cross March 28, 1945. After the war as a teacher, he died May 17, 2001 Strubing in Bavaria.
