USAF oznámilo, že flotila francouzských letounů E-3F AWACS bude modernizována na úroveň amerického Block 40/45. Software čtyř francouzských letounů tak bude pracovat na platformách Windows/Unix. Modernizace dále umožní rozšíření kapacit francouzských letounů mj. v oblasti podpory humanitárních misí a misí SAR, v oblasti bezpečnostního zajištění veřejných událostí a v oblasti podpory boje proti drogové kriminalitě a pirátství.
