Discussions about establishing these badges began as early as 1916. In 1917, when assault troops were already being established at division level, the establishment of specialized badges was again considered. However, since the badge did not become official, we will at least introduce the badges worn by soldiers on their caps, but also on their chests, similar to e.g. air badges. At the same time, however, we would like to point out that 80% of the badges exhibited here are only collector's copies.
The original badges are, by our standards, expensive, because their price is, depending on the quality, from 100 euros upwards. However, on friendly sites like Auction or E-bay (unfortunately) only new items are offered, which are non-original and expensive.
The sample of all badges (Patriotika) are inserted with the cooperation of Mr. Jan Kodýdek and are mostly from his collection .

Zadní strana odznaku je mimořádně zajímavá svým provedením. Nebudeme popisovat, neb z popisu o originalitě čerpají především podvodní výrobci a prodejci.

Badges of shock units are rightly at the forefront of interest of those interested in military history. Pictures of these badges are rarely found in our collections. Here we will take the liberty of showing some truly original badges. Noteworthy are the actual design, the embossing from weak sheet metal and the weak pin for attaching to the garment.
By careful study of the reverse you will see for yourself that this needle is the weak point and for the time being the best way to distinguish the original from the new work.

In 2005, the auction house Rauch in Vienna organized the first auction dedicated to the " Kappenabzeichen ". The whole auction was dedicated to cap badges of the RU army. A special catalogue was published for this unique event and to date we have a total of three such catalogues which can be of the greatest help in collecting, preserving and studying these badges. We anticipate that another specialized auction will soon follow and we will acquire a 4th volume. Catalogue .

It is questionable whether it is appropriate to deal with the badges of strike groups, which are very often found on auctions of Aukra, Molotku or eBay. These are overwhelmingly modern, often contrived badges that are collector's items because of their subject matter. Perhaps it would not be out of place to insert pictures of the various copies as well, which may be a warning!
