Panzerkampfwagen 35S 739(f) - designation of the Somua 35 utility tanks included in the armament of the Wehrmacht after the defeat of France in 1940. A total of 297 tanks were added to the armament. They were deployed to protect lines of communication and to fight guerrillas, and later were also included as part of armoured trains.

Compared to the original Somua S 35 tanks, tanks serving in the Wehrmacht had a modified turret by removing the dome at the top of the turret. On some tanks the turret was removed completely and a double hatch used on Pz.Kpfw II tanks was installed instead. A FuG-5 radio was installed in the tanks, the antenna of which was mounted on the starboard side under the rear edge of the turret. There was also the addition of a loader to the crew, an increase in the amount of ammunition carried (in crates at the bottom of the fighting compartment), and brackets were welded to the outside of the turret armour to accommodate additional fuel cans.
From 1943, Zimmerit antimagnetic paste was applied to the tanks.

About 60 tanks were converted into the Panzerbefehlswagen 35S 379(f) command vehicle with a wooden dummy gun and a large frame antenna over the engine compartment, some tanks were later converted by dismantling the turret into artillery tractors and ammunition transporters, or by further modifications into driver training vehicles Fahrschulpanzer 35S 739(f).

As of July 1, 1943, a total of 144 tanks were in use by the German Army (of which 43 on Yugoslav territory, 67 in France, 16 in Norway and 16 in Finland, 2 machines on USSR territory), in March 1944 (03/1944) the number of tanks was 5.
