In the mid-1960s, the first Special Operations Companies were formed and incorporated into the Infantry Regiments of the National Defence Brigades of the Territories. On July 2, 1969, recruitment begins for the Special Operations Company No. 32 (Compañia de Operaciones Especiales COE 32) of the "Guadalajara" Infantry Regiment No. 20 in Paterna, Valencia. As a consequence of the reorganization of the armed forces of Plan META, the order of the General Captaincy of the Levante No. 62 of 20.3.1983, which states the creation of the Special Operations Group (Grupo de Operaciones Especiales) III, with COE 31 Alicante and COE 32 Paterna, Valencia starting to form part of the Special Operations Group GOE "Levante″ III, taking over the history and traditions of the Infantry Regiment No 23 Valencia. Alcoy, Alicante, base Molino Payá is chosen as the new place of operation. The units move to the place of operation in the month of October 1984. In March 1985, the first maneuvers exercise is carried out already with the complete composition of all the components of GOE III with the task of exploring the territory of the entire military region, obtaining militarily valuable information, as a fundamental resource for the fight of the guerrilla and counter-guerrilla. In September 1986, by order 362/19627, GOE "Levante" III changes its designation to GOE "Valencia" III with the history and traditions of the former Infantry Regiment "Valencia" No 23 and is transferred to the new base of Rabasa in Alicante. Members of this group are trained in guerrilla warfare, guerrilla warfare, ambush and sabotage, also important components of the training include parachuting, winter warfare, underwater warfare, explosive training, survival techniques, mountaineering, combat in extreme conditions, etc.
