The BM-14MM / 2B2(ББМ-14ММ / 2Б2Р) is a rocket launcher designed to fire 140 mm M-14OF turbojet ammunition (), which is designed to fire 140 mm M-14OF ():М-14ОФ, fragmentation-resistant) and M-14D (М-14Д, smoke-resistant) at ranges up to 10 km.

The actual rocket launcher is mounted on the chassis of a ZiL-131 truck.

The vehicle is armed with 16 missiles, has a range of up to 600 km, and is ready to fire a salvo within 1.5-2 minutes of the command to fire.

The rocket launcher is designed to operate against enemy live fire and firing positions (artillery and mortar batteries), areas of concentration of mechanized (motorized artillery) units, formations and volleys, and also to destroy light (wood and earth) engineer structures and shelters.

It's not the type of propulsion, it's the way the missile is stabilized. Туурбореактивнный снаряд the projectile is stabilized by rotation, as opposed to arrow stabilization using stabilizers.

The designation "turbojet" for rockets stabilized by rotation induced by obliquely inclined nozzles was once also used for the 130 JRRO RM51 rockets for the Czechoslovak 130mm vz.51 rocket launcher.
Later (in the 1960s and 1970s) this designation was gradually abandoned as terminologically misleading. It evokes the wrong idea of using a turbojet (= jet) engine.
