In the article " Tanks are laying down their armour " it says " There are 22 Cromwell tanks Cromwell in the Central Workshops of OKR Ostrava for modification to THV-1. One piece is finished, two others are dismantled and 19 await the same fate. The basis of the modification is the dismantling of the turret and engine."

Koniec Cromwellov sa konal v Ostrave...

The photo below shows three (!)preserved machines from recent times, which were used for the alignment of tailings during coal mining. These machines have been salvaged and refurbished. This was done by enthusiasts from the Museum of Armoured Technology Smržovka, who currently have 2 pieces of platforms (the registration number of one of them is T188293) at their disposal. Another similar machine was rescued by an association of independent collectors of historical equipment, KVH Rota Nazdar (this machine with the original military designation T188441 was rescued from the Hřebec mine in 2000). Other machines acquired by this group were Cromwell Mk.IV number T188771 and Cromwell Mk.IV (or Cromwell Mk.V) number T188692. The platform of another machine of the same type is in the Leshan Museum and another in the Rabbits Military Museum (Cromwell VII).
The THV-01 was developed by the Mining Engineering Works in Ostrava. The machines were stripped of their engines and replaced by electric motors. The power supply was by means of cabling, the connection inlets of which were at the rear of the machines. The cables were routed behind the vehicle by means of a support/conducting structure welded to the rear armouring of the hull. The turrets of the tanks were replaced by purpose-built civilian superstructures of a type as yet unknown to me.

Konštruktérom THV 01 bol Lubos Vágner in ústredných dielní Ostrava-Karvínskeho turf. The vehicle allowed during the act of the inning vyložiť tailings zo 780 banských vozíkov and súčasne znížilo number of pracovníkov on the halde up to about 3/4.
