T & # 299; zoc Ch & # 257; lchiuhtlatona
(Nahuatl: sick or injured leg)
seventh lord of mexicans
* 1436
+1487
Government (1481-1486)
He was the successor of his brother Axayácatl, he was especially devoted to religious life and had poor military results, and his empire almost did not reach any expansion. He ruled for a relatively short period (1481-1486).
His father was Moctezuma Ilhuicamina and he had brothers Ahuízotl and Axayácatl, he was the eldest of the brothers. And after the death of the other, he was elected ruler in 1481.
His first military campaign was an attack on Meztitlan, where he was defeated, made 14 more expeditions, but was unable to enlarge the empire, was not a successful duke, devoted more to the administration and education of the conquered territories than to recharge them. However, this pacifism provoked several revolts.
He had a monolith known as the "Tizoc Stone" which commemorated the conquests of Tamajachco and Miquitlan, Atezcahuacán in Puebla, or Otlappan in Guerrero.
He began the reconstruction of the great temple in Tenochtitlan in order to worship the gods, developing a system of mail in his country.
He wanted the conquered cities to have the same lifestyle as the Mexicans. The lack of success of the government was caused by the fact that a group from his court Techoylala and Maztla, Messrs. Tlachca and Iztapalapa decided to poison him.
After his death, the court met and elected his younger brother as his successors Ahuízotl (1486-1502).
