At the beginning of it all was the AK-47 manufactured in Bulgaria under the designation AKK (Avtomaticheskiy karabin Kalashnikova), from which the AKK-M1 with a 40x46 mm UBGL-M6 submunition or 40mm UBGL-1 for VOG-25 grenades from Soviet grenade launchers was based. The version with folding shoulder support is designated AKKS. The AKM copy produced in Bulgaria is designated AKKM, the AKMS copy AKKMS. For AK-74 copies it is as follows - AK-74 is marked AKK-74 in Bulgaria, AKS-74 is marked AKKS-74 and finally AK-74N is marked AKK-74N in Bulgaria. After that, it would perhaps be relatively simple. However, the newly produced rifles are marked differently.
Previously / now
AKK-47 / 7,62 AR
AKKS-47 / 7,62 AR-F
AKKM / 7,62 AR-1
AKKMS / 7,62 AR-1F
AKK-M1 / 7,62 AR-M1
AKKS-M1 / 7,62 AR-M1F

AKK-74 / 5,45 AR-M1
AKKS-74 / 5,45 AR-M1F
AKKS-74U / 5,45 AR-SF

in addition to these guns, these same guns are produced in 5.56x45 NATO caliber and then things like the 7.62 AR-M7F which is actually the AK 100 series, then the AKMS version with a shortened barrel in all three calibers, etc.
Dimensionally these guns are more or less the same as the Soviet originals. Photos archive of the author
