It comes on a modernised version of the airplane Letov Š-1. Letov s-5 is as opposed to the original aircraft features a fuselage with a metal tubular structures. This adjustment increased the weight of the aircraft 200 kg while the aircraft has become the virtually neupotřebitelným. Therefore, it was decided the hull překonstruovat with the use of better quality duralumin alloy and so reduce the overall weight of the aeroplane at 922 kg.The engine of the aircraft was the same as for W-1 used engine hiero's-L. The aircraft was zkonstruovná in 1923 and offered MNO (the ministry of national defense), which, however, it was rejected in favor of the newer designed aircraft and purchased only a prototype flying by the year 1930 in the aviation college in Cheb.
