CAN - RAM AA 3,7 inch

RAM AA 3.7"

A 1943 design for a 3.7-inch calibre self-propelled anti-aircraft gun based on a Canadian RAM tank platform. The tank platform was stripped of the turret and upper hull. This created the platform on which the British QF 3.7-in Heavy Anti-aircraft Gun was mounted. The platform area was protected by low hinged sidewalls which folded down when firing. The gun itself and its operator were protected by a massive shield, but this was insufficient to fully protect the crew. A prototype was tested in 5/1943, but the project was not approved for series production.
