Ro-6 igniter

It is a pressure and bait igniter. It is used to mine railroad tracks and to lay traps on railroads. It is laid by resting the button of the spreader against the heel of the rail or the bottom surface of the sleeper. It cannot be used on lines with concrete sleepers and on steel bridges. The "Z" detonator is used for adjustment.

TTU:
- length of the igniter ...........88 mm
- ...........35 mm width of the igniter
- igniter height ...........132 mm
- activation force ..............20-40 N

It consists of a bakelite body in which the firing pin is under the compressed spring of the firing pin. The firing pin is fitted with a tooth at the end of the shank which is caught in the striking position by the tooth of the button. In the secured position, the button is held by a safety catch. At the bottom, the button is provided with a tooth for engaging the tooth of the shank of the striker. The upper end of the button is provided with an internal thread for screwing on the pressure rod extension. The end of the igniter body is provided with a match screw with a match. After the Ro-6 is placed and armed under the rail, the button is held in a secured position by the rail and gravel and thus the firing pin is also held in the striking position.

The activation of the pressure-adjusted Ro-6 occurs as follows: the arrival of a train over the igniter sags the rail or the adjacent sleeper, thus loading the t.z. The pressure rod with push button is pressed, which overwhelms the spring pressure of the push button. As soon as the button drops 3 mm, the tooth of the button comes out of its position against the tooth of the firing pin shank, the tooth of the firing pin shank slips through the upper groove of the button, and the firing pin is thrown by the firing pin spring onto the firing pin, which ignites the detonator Ž and thus the whole charge.

The Z fuze and a 400-grain action charge are used to adjust the Ro-6. Good trained soldiers must be designated to adjust and place the primer. It is forbidden to re-secure an unlocked Ro-6 as this could cause the charge to explode.

Ro-6 fuzes are packed in 2 pieces in a cardboard box. The cardboard box with the fuses is stacked 70 at a time in wooden crates, so there are 140 fuses per crate.
