The KST is not as exact a copy of the HRO as is generally believed. The differences are in the mounting, the most common original used electrodes of the American octal type (6K7 etc.), KST had electrodes of the so called 11t series (EF11 etc.) There is also a difference in the value of the intermediate frequency, the original 456 and KST 468 kHz. The original had spread amateur bands, the KST did not. The common elements are the change of range, the replacement of the slide and the tuning capacitor, which was also imported from the USA via Portugal during the war.
