At the end of the 1940s, a number of development works on new self-propelled guns for the needs of the post-war Czechoslovak army were carried out. One of the plans was to mount a 152.4 mm cannon howitzer originally of German origin 15 cm sFH 18. After Czechoslovak conversion to Soviet ammunition bearing the designation vz.18/47, it was to be mounted on a Panther tank platform (Panther in the Czechoslovak Army).

At a meeting of several branches of the 1st Department of the Main Staff of the Czechoslovak Army held on 15 February 1947, the Artillery Command expressed interest in the possibility of testing, among others, a prototype of the 15 cm calibre S.F.H.18 self-propelled gun on the Panther platform for the purpose of gaining experience. Work on the project was carried out by the Skoda company, which had requested the supply of the necessary platform as early as 1946. Due to the high price for which the army wanted to sell the platform, the company finally received the necessary machine only after 18.3.1947, when it received the machine free of charge.1947 an agreement was made between Škoda Plzeň and VTÚ(Military Technical Institute) for the construction of two prototypes with the aforementioned howitzer. The company Skoda sent VTÚ documentation No.7074č (dated 20.5.1947) to the project on 3.7.1947. The documentation included drawings Zb 16057-P and Zb 16058-P. The howitzer was to be located in an armoured turret which had a hinged ceiling. In the ceiling a circle was created for a heavy machine gun. There was also a design for an open turret from above (drawing Zb 16063-P of 15.5.1947).
Another change in the order of prototypes occurred in 8/1947, when only one prototype was to be produced (instead of a second one, a prototype 105 mm gun vz.18 N on Panther platform).

The prototype was to take part in trials on 28/6/1949 in Dedice together with other projects. However, the platform itself was not yet available at that time. It was to be delivered to ČKD Sokolovo from Tank Apprenticeship on 10.1.1949.
Soon, however, the army's interest in this machine faded, but due to the prototype's work in progress, the VTU decided on 27.8.1948 to complete it. The completed prototype was assigned to the Tank Training School (TU) in 1949, where it bore the registration mark 67.493.
On 6 May 1950, however, the MNO decided to disarm the prototype, the gun was to be transported to Škodové závody Dubnice nad Váhom and the platform was sent to ČKD, where it was rebuilt into a disarmament tank. The registration number was cancelled.
