On the basis of a review in the journal History and the present, I began to hunt for the book of John Drnka with the name of the Frog in the milk with the subtitle of the Military - historical mystification on the subject of Munich, 1938, published by Our troops.
It took a while, I had to leave her order, but eventually we succeeded.
This is an alternative history based on the assumption that the leadership of the army in September 1938 with the support of the Committee for the defense of the republic banned the Beneš 27. September contemplate surrender, the new government has been formed under the chairmanship of the deputy Ladislav Rašína with power ministries occupied by the army (Raw is the secretary of defense)and representation of the political forces that want to defend (such as Gottwald's minister of propaganda ). Munich is the only conference of four states, whose decision shall refuse the Czechs respect, and the Czech army, fully mobilised, unlike the wehrmacht, will not leave the border fortifications. The war begins!!!
I won't give away how it ends, read it (641 pages including notes and biographies of each character), I shall limit myself to a few comments to the form, as is the story given.
The reader will appreciate the already-mentioned biographies, in particular his well-known characters (Radola Gajda in charge of the attack on the Vienna gene. Vojcechovský prevents the head 3. čs. the army in the year 1942 the carpathian arc before the procedure the Red army, Konrad Henlein in August 1942 taken prisoner by the soviets and handed over to the NKVD,then disappear without a trace, Heydrich is already in September 38 shot Canarisem and under). Thus, even though the story itself the Czech-German war ends 28. September 1938, thanks to the referred to the cvs and the comments, it is possible to piece together the way in which history developed thanks to the rejection of Munich.
At the same time, it is necessary to appreciate the author's knowledge in the area of the structure, armament and equipment of the army of the Republic of Czechoslovakia and the German wehrmacht in this period. Yet would the book benefit from the inclusion of the list of abbreviations, which the book just abounds, moreover, in the diffusion of individual czechoslovak and German units is just thanks to the abbreviations for readers less sophisticated problem to distinguish on which side of the conflict is just speech. Similarly, as an annex to suit the book to the map with drawings of the individual sections of the queue.
But what can sometimes the pleasure of reading thoroughly poison, is the absolute contempt for the rules of the Czech spelling. A person would have understood that the direct speech instead of quotation marks indicates a dash, even if it carries with it the problem of how to end it (you Know, what is it, mr. secretary? He asked impatiently Benes. - s. 498), maybe even crucial writing of the sudetenland with a small s (after the war with the Germans in the Czech documents, referred to as the germans), but understand there is absolute chaos in the use of commas not only in complete sentences, but even in simple sentences. (p. 172 ... our role is, after all, only the role of intermediaries..., p. 173 ...your no slouch as we see...p. 194 ... All the anger for years nastřádaná in those soldiers, suddenly erupted in a single moment.) Against the above are the fact that the wehrmacht is one that the wehrmacht and later the wehrmacht, or that the anti-aircraft company uses a 20mm machine gun Oberlikon vz. 26 (p. 456), where appropriate, that the marauders used a rifle (with 400 - 401) only a small freckle on throughout the book.
Definitely book despite the price of 450 crowns worth reading..

Book well vrelo odporúčam. Bohužial spomínané weaknesses really significantly kazia otherwise excellent impression from the books. Same mistakes sa vyskytujú aj in ďalšej Drnkovej knihe "the Second breath of the Habsburg monarchy", nevertheless the fact that both books came out in's vydavateľstvách. Our troop has been around since the half of last year zaradené in edičnom plan pokračovanie "Frogs in the milk".Pôvodný term, koniec októbra sa cez polovicu novembra prehupol into the Slovak half of 2010. Len hope this netrpezlivé čakanie,at least for me, will odmenené aj kvalitnou finish. About napínavosti and kvalitnom time pri master Drnkovi nepochybujem..

I can recommend the whole series, although there are a lot of technical errors, such as that in the first book, the LT-35 is armed with a 47 mm cannon (in reality 37 mm). In other books, once Russian tank cannons are marked as 50 mm (real. 45) then right and then wrong.
Some of the technical tweaks are overemphasized (diesel engines, wide tank belts), other technical solutions are automatically considered inferior.
As an active shooter, what bothered me the most was that the author did not consult about the real possibilities of small arms and their ammunition with someone who moves in the field. According to the description, they were to be cast weapons. We have not yet achieved such precision casting today, it could be machined castings, but the same or even better result would be achieved by bending (MG 42). Even the description of ammunition smells of pious wishes. 9 mm reduced charge with an effective range of 1000 meters is definitely wrong. The 9 mm rounds used at the time (9 mm Browning, 9 mm Luger) had an effective range of 100 to 200 meters and it depended a lot on the shooter. If the charge was really half the weight of the original rifle ammunition, it would have to be a completely new charge similar to today's 9x39 mm cartridge used in VSS Vintorez and SR-3 Vichr rifles (they have an effective range of about 600m). In the conditions described in the book, I doubt that they would develop a completely new charge and weapon from the beginning.
Despite all the objections of a technical nature, all four books are written very engaging and provocative in their promonarchist and anti-Republican style (everything monarchist is great, Republican is practically everything bad).
