Brief history:
It was a further development Dewoitine D.520 , already in 1939 the designers in their project planned to install a powerful engine Hispano-Suiza HS-12Z, but the engine was still not ready for installation in serial aircraft and so work on the prototype could begin in Vichy France, namely already with German consent. The Germans allowed the construction of 105 D.520Z aircraft in June 1942. The French therefore began construction of the prototype, but it was not flown, because the Germans stopped construction in March of the following year. The French did not return to testing until 1947, the aircraft was designated as SE 520Z, but eventually recognized that the design was hopelessly obsolete and ground tests were definitively canceled in 1948.
