T-62 a T-10 v ČSSR 1968

Diskuse

It could be determined from "something" (literature, web, ..) which specific invasion units (heavy tank regiments) had in their arsenal T-62 and T-10 tanks (I assume that probably only RA). According to the photos I have, the T-62 occurred quite a lot in Moravia and southern Slovakia.
Which literature or link do you recommend.

It's about creating captions for the T-62 for color reconstruction from one photo I have from the net from a Japanese publication. According to a colleague, there is a label written in it "spilled tea" and apart from the year "1968" and the city of Bratislava, no further detailed information. I'm guessing it's just kind of "general", ... ??
In addition to the hidden number, the designation forms a white square with 2/5-1 in it.
The T-62 has a blade and a tower number covered by a tarpaulin. I also know another T-62 with a blade from Bratislava. I guess there weren't many units with T-62 in "68" ....

Thanks Dolin

Mr colleague,
Western Slovakia and southern Moravia were occupied by Soviet and Hungarian units of the Balaton Army Group under the command of Colonel General Konstantin Ivanovich Provalov. It included four Soviet and one Hungarian division. The Hungarians are out of the question, as they operated east of the Váh River. From the Soviets, the 13th Guards Tank Division quickly advanced into southern Moravia (towards the units of the 1st Guards Tank Army) and was followed by the 48th Motorized Rifle Division, which was located on the Moravian-Slovak border. The 254th Motorized Rifle Division occupied western and part of central Slovakia, and the 93rd Guards Motorized Rifle Division allegedly did not enter our territory at all and remained concentrated south of the Danube. Because pontoon bridges were not built, the Soviets could only advance through two crossings over the Danube - Blava and Komárno. Personally, I think that the 13th Guards Tank Division advanced through Blava, followed by the 48th Motorized Rifle Division.
The divisions had the following tank regiments:
13th Guards Tank Division:
- 27th Guards Tank Regiment,
- 130th Guards Tank Regiment,
- 201st Guards Tank Regiment;
48th Motorized Rifle Division:
- 375th Tank Regiment;
93rd Guards Motorized Rifle Division:
- 87th Guards Tank Regiment;
254th Motorized Rifle Division:
- 66th Guards Tank Regiment.

It may also help that I asked for something similar over the years and we got into a discussion with Jirka Vrba, who gave several other links, mostly to Russian websites.

Thank you so much! I've already studied some of the war here. I even found something about the T-10 on "military", ...

Exactly which division used the T-54/55, T-62 (or how many) I probably won't know what?

I even have one (according to colleagues quite rare) photo of the T-54 first versions (wheels of the T-34 (cast with 12 ribs) and a barrel without an ejector - Slovakia 1968.

for Dolina:

It is in Bratislava until September, on Šafárikovo náměstí, ie exactly in the places where in August 1968 were o.i. tanks T-62, exhibition of photographs from this period. T-62 tower numbers 922, 929 are photographed at Comenius University, and on Kutuzova Street/barracks/there are machines with numbers eg 951. Of course, they all have white invasive stripes. I did not notice the blade on any T-62 machine. I note that the shape of the numbers is completely different than on the T-55 machines. I have already tried to agree with the ladies present to take only some large-area black and white photographs, but I was not properly understood. I risked something and took something, but I don't know how to present it here so as not to conflict with the law on copyright protection ... Sad
