Jako JABO pilot dokázal sestřelit dalších 7 letounů protivníka. Spolu s dalšími dvěma potitankovými esy Hauptmannem A. Kuffnerem (60+) a Rainerem Nossekem (73+) byl 30.04.1945 sestřelen. Na rozdíl od obou výše jmenovaných s těžkým zraněním přežil.
