Primárne bol žeriav developed pre použitie at jednotiek strategic rakiet, but nakoniec našiel žeriav uplatnenie aj u's druhov troops (ženijné, tank, motostrelecké etc.). Eg. in pozemného troops Sovietskej army boli tieto žeriavy zaradené to zostavy motostreleckého and a tank regiment in počte 2 pcs (ženijno-technical rota - 1 and rota legitimate techniques - 1 pcs).
