N-12CH

The N-12CH refrigerated trailer was used to transport and possibly store refrigerated or frozen food, or food that needed to be protected from freezing. The thermally insulated cabinet with an internal volume of 29.5 m3 was cooled or heated by a block cooling unit driven by a BJS 31 or BJSE 32 engine. The constant temperature inside the container could consistently reach limits of - 20°C (cooling mode) to + 12°C (heating mode) over an ambient temperature range of - 20° to + 35°C. The capacity of the N-12CH was 11.9 tonnes. The trailer refrigeration units were independent of the tractor operation.

The N-12CH was introduced into the CSLA arsenal in the second half of the 1960s. The tractors were initially T-138 NTt 4x4, later T-148 NTt 4x4. The main area of use of the semi-trailers was to secure the activities of field meat plant.

The largest refrigerated mobile vehicle used by the CSLAS is the automotive refrigerated trailer over 5 tons N-12-CH. The trailer is designed to transport and store refrigerated or frozen food, mainly meat, up to 12 tons in weight.

In series production since 1965 as the 12 t refrigerated transporter N-12-CH "Alka ".

The N12-CH trailer consists of a refrigeration unit built into a thermally insulated cabinet. A T 138 NTt 4x4 semi-trailer tractor is used to tow the trailer.

The refrigerated trailer is operationally independent of the tractor. Its technological equipment consists of a thermally insulated cabinet, a block cooling unit BJSE 32, the basic part of which consists of a compressor cooling circuit. Regulation of the set temperature regime is provided by an electronic thermostat.

The thermally insulated vehicle cabinet is cooled or heated as required by the BJSE 32 ( older type BJS 31 ) block cooling unit, which was driven either by a four-stroke petrol engine or, when connected to an external power source, by an electric motor.

Trailer dimensions in mm:

Length : 12105
Width : 2500
Height : 3600

Temperature range Temperature range : -20° C to +12° C according to the set program at ambient temperature -20° C to +35° C.

Low temperatures are used year-round to preserve chilled or frozen short-term storage provisions.

Higher temperatures are mainly used in winter to protect seasonal products (fruit, vegetables) from freezing.

Completion of data :

The N-12-CH refrigerated trailer for 5 t is a provisioning equipment designed to transport and store refrigerated or frozen food, especially meat.

The trailer consists of refrigeration equipment built into the thermally insulated cabinet of the refrigerated trailer. The thermally insulated cabinet is cooled or heated by a block unit driven either by an ignition motor or by an electric motor when connected to an external power source.

The block cooling unit allows the trailer to be cooled at an ambient temperature of - 20°C to + 35°C in the trailer load compartment, depending on the program set:

- storage of chilled or frozen short-term storage provisions,
- protection of seasonal products or other provisions from freezing.

The temperature in the loading compartment is maintained automatically.

The air-tightness of the semi-trailer cabinet allows the trailer to pass through infested areas without special measures to protect the transported provisions.

The refrigerated semi-trailer is operationally independent of the Tatra T 148 NTt VM 4x4 tractor.

The Technological equipment N-12-CH consists of :

- block cooling unit BJSE 32,
- thermally insulated cabinet.

Main parts of BJSE 32:

- compressor refrigeration circuit,
- ŠKODA 744 petrol engine - BA-90 fuel ,
- electric motor,
- controls,
- power sources and distribution,
- refrigeration unit cabinet.

Refrigeration unit cabinet

It is made up of a frame with a sheet metal cover with a double-leaf front door and a single-leaf door on the left side.
