Sestřel polského Halifaxu nad vesnicí Metetice?

While searching the internet to find out the circumstances of the downing of Polish aircraft in aid of the Warsaw Uprising and later I came across a Halifax UL187 of the Polish 301st Squadron, which was to be shot down over the village of Metetice in Slovakia on 28.12.44. However, the Slovakian List and Google don't know the word Metetice at all. I have also tried various Metelice etc, but always without success. The village should probably be located in the N or NW of Slovakia. Would anyone have any information. Thanks

But it is not in the N or NW of Slovakia, but in the east, near Prešov.
It's a pity you didn't contact me ten days ago - I stayed there for three days last week. But až I'll talk to a friend who lives there, and I won't forget, so I'll ask him about it.

Thank you so much for your help. I assumed the north či northwest by the main route between Brindisi and Warsaw. The Tatra Mountains were in their way, so it was up to the crew to fly them, or fly around them. This particular machine was to be shot down by machine gun fire. And thanks for the lines.
