Knihu možno doporučiť ako pútavú a poučnú. Podla môjho osobného názoru celkom realisticky zachytáva životné peripetie sovietskeho "topguna" od detských rokov, cez dospievanie až k dezercií do Japonska a jeho život v USA. Taktiež by bolo dobré keby kniha obsahovala "poznámky pod čiarou", ktoré by vysvetlili a upresnili jednotlivé udalosti.
