JaAZ-200 ( & # 1071; & # 1040; & # 1047; -200) - 7 ton truck. It was created by further development of the JaG-7 truck (a copy of the GMC-803 truck with a load capacity of 5 tons). Development has been underway since 1943, initially under the designation JaG-8, the prototype was completed in December 1944 and received the designation OP-200 ( & # 1054; & # 1055; -200). In the summer of 1945, the prototype was presented by party and government officials and it was decided to mass production with the designation JaAZ-200. The vehicle was originally to be manufactured at the Yaroslavl Automobile Plant, where it was also constructed, but in the autumn of 1945 it was decided to build a new plant for the production of heavy trucks in Minsk (Minsk Automobile Plant - MAZ), where Studebacker and MACK vehicles from parts shipped from the United States under a loan and lease agreement.
The prototype JaAZ-200, together with the documentation in 1946 moved to Minsk and a new vehicle, with minor changes was still referred to as MAZ-200 ( & # 1052; & # 1040; & # 1047; -200). As the production of the vehicle in Minsk was not ready, the vehicles were further produced in Yaroslavl.
Based on the JaAZ-200 flatbed truck, they developed the JaAZ-205 tipper in Jaroslav in 1946. Serial production of JaAZ-200 and JaAZ-205 vehicles in Yaroslavl began in August 1947, the first MAZ-205 vehicle was manufactured in Minsk on November 1, 1947.
The production of JaAZ-200/205 vehicles was terminated in February 1951, when the production of vehicles was fully launched in Minsk MAZ-200/205
By 1949, 103 JaAZ-205 dumpers had been produced.
Apart from small differences in construction, the only visible difference between the cars JaAZ-200/205 and MAZ-200/205 is the shape of the radiator grille - JaAZ has them horizontal, while MAZ vertical and graphic emblem of the manufacturer - Yaroslavsky bear was replaced by Minsk Bison.
The vehicle was powered by a 4-cylinder diesel engine JaAZ-204 ( & # 1071; & # 1040; & # 1047; -204) with a capacity of 4650 cm3 and an output of 82 kW (110 hp) . The engine power on the axle was transmitted by a 5-speed transmission with 2-5 speed synchronization, the vehicle was equipped with pneumatic brakes and hydraulic shock absorbers on the front axle. The cabin was wooden with a metal frame and an adjustable driver's seat. As one of the first vehicles manufactured in the USSR, a tachometer was displayed on the dashboard. The wheelbase was 4520 mm, the maximum speed of the vehicle was 50 km/h and the average consumption was 38 l/100 km.
