Stozernik Veca Miković
He was born on 7.1.1941 in Subotica. In 1938 he became an aircraft mechanic, in September 1939 he graduated from the 2nd PS(pilot school) and in November 1940 he joined the 3rd PS in Niš. In May 1941 he joined the air force of the Independent State of Croatia with the rank of vodnik and in July he enlisted in the HZL. In September he was promoted to national officer and in December he arrived at the Eastern Front. He achieved his first kill on 20 March 1942, when he shot down two I-16s in one day. On 7 April, together with C.Galić, they became the first Croatian aces. He died on 20.6.1942 in combat. At that time he held the rank of stozerni narenik and his score was 10 confirmed and 4 unconfirmed kills, of which he was additionally credited with two.
