Bojnik Honey Stipčić

He was born 27.12.1908 in Krizevci. He was a talented painter, but decided to prefer for a military career. In 1933 he became an air observer and a year later he graduated from pilot school. In 1940 he served in the 162.squadron 6.fighter regiment. 6.the regiment also led the conversion course on fast aeroplanes. Subsequently he was transferred to the 3.pilot school in Niš. Here also got involved in short-the resistance of the Yugoslav royal army against the German invasion in April 1941. Flew six missions against the Germans and Italians, while 6.4.1941 shot down one Ju-88A and damaged one Cant From. 1007.

In April 1941 he entered Stipčić in the rank of the dresser to the air force of the NDH(Independent Croatian state), and in July became a national HZL. The first victory in the new colors reached in may 1942, and in total during the two months he shot down 12 aircraft for sure, and 2 probably. In September he returned to Croatia and was promoted to natsatnika. During the second hike on the eastern front, he served from the spring of 1943, mainly as a staff officer. In may he became commander of the renewed 11.fighter squadron(later 12.fighter squadron) and the summer he spent with JG 104 and Fl.Ü.G. 1.

In December he was transferred to headquarters HZL and in February 1944 was awarded the rank of bojnik. Later served as liaison officer EIG(Croatian air group) in east Prussia. After the defection of Dukovace returned to Croatia and took command of the 1.ZS. He flew combat missions Botongaje and Lucy and also tested captured Spitfire Mk.IX. 30.12.1944 was jailed for ten days. After discharge he flew away at the 2.ZJ. After the war he remained in Zagreb and entered the JRF. He died in 1946, when he accidentally shot the guard.
