КВ-6 (Объект 226)
KV-6, or also Object 226 (КВ-6, Объект 226) - a project ťažaženical-chemical tank. Prototype only ( www.battlefield.ru )

Under the Tankomaster 4/2001 (ТТанкомастер N4 2001), the designation KV-6 was intended for the first prototype of the project KV-7 (KV-7 model I.)

It has been speculated in the literature whether there were several of these KV flamethrowers, which they refer to as KV-6, or just a prototype. I was able to find photographs of maybe five of these tanks. I don't know if this is just a small series of modified standard KV1 (?)
Some of the machines have the flamethrower blanked off and were probably used as standard tanks and had the flamethrower dismounted, or probably just had the flamethrower ready to be installed, but two obviously have it installed.

KV-6 has a different type of wheels, which I called "early vez"(white). For this design it would be more logical to have all wheels with fins. Unfortunately the photos are so poor quality it's hard to see. Next, this type has an older turret and a different type of additional armor on the side of the hull under the turret (the others have two plates on each side always between the spars and this one has one wider plate exactly the length of the turret wreath with a cutout for the spars).

I would be glad for any further clarifying information on this type or modification.

This version of the KV-1 was produced by Leningrad plant No.174 in the autumn of 1941. The number of experimental machines produced is unknown, but given the number of surviving photographs, it is possible that this modification was mass-produced for some time, and perhaps for a short time it was also the standard (my guess). The Russian literature gives only an unknown number of trial machines that were immediately deployed on the Leningrad front.
The range of the flamethrower is given as 40-50 meters and the number of rounds fired as 10-12.
