An interesting weapon produced between 1942-45 in about 20,000 pieces for the Australian Army. The weapon combines elements of the English STEN submachine gun and the German MP-40. From the Sten comes the actual weapon system, from the MP-40 the folding stock, and pistol grips. Despite being a successful design, it never achieved the popularity of the Owen submachine gun and was transferred to the Australian Army Reserve in the mid-1950s.
