The journal S I G N U M Brno is currently publishing an article by Dr. Jedlicka entitled: Crosses of Merit of the Austrian Monarchy (160th Anniversary) Part One. In the introductory part, among other things, there is a mention of the crosses awarded to the officers of the unit. The cross itself, which was designed by Section Councillor Paul Sprenger in gold, is described here. It is a cross with a dedication (see picture). Dedication: Das Offizierskorps des Ldw. Inft. Regts Pisek No 28 - /Seinem Chefartze 1904./ Translated: The Officers' Corps of the Land-Grenadier Infantry Regiment No. 28 in Pisek - /to the Chefartz 1904./
The cross is a product of the Viennese firm Rothe and is preserved in its original gift etui.
Perhaps a diligent historian or someone interested in the history of this regiment will add the name of the doctor.

Great-grandfather (marked) enlisted in the 28th Infantry Regiment and died 16.03.1915 in a hospital in captivity (Leskovac, Serbia). Maybe someone has the same photo of his ancestor or recognizes him. The photo is without further captions (great-grandfather was from Lhota u Příbramě, year 1883).
