Tatra V 377 (T-25)

The vehicle was built at the request of the Ministry of National Defence
Wheel-and-belt chassis (not to be confused with semi-belt)
was a fairly common attempt at the time to get a vehicle capable of fast movements with good terrain clearance, most ended up as they had to...a failure due to high complexity and failure rates.

To give you an idea, the Ministry's weight limit was exceeded by 50%.

Combined tractor Tatra

I must admit that I am not familiar with the terms here. For years I lived under the idea that the Tatra company, used a name for this machine taken from an army order for an artillery tractor with a combined chassis.

The Tatra Combination Tractor (hereafter KTT) used temporary lowered wheels when driving on the road and its fixed track chassis when driving off-road. In a sense, it could not be a classic wheel-and-belt design, but a version with a variable chassis - either tracks or wheels.

The KTT was probably based on the design of the KH-50 (wheel-track, 50 hp). This vehicle was developed in the 1920s by Ringhoffer Kopřivnice, together with Breitfeld-Daněk and Laurin-Klement. I assume that the KTT artillery tractor was designed based on Joseph Vollmer's patent and the factory's experience with the KH-50 vehicle.

Tatrovka had been developing the KTT vehicle for several years and by 1938, had built only one prototype with incomplete factory and military trials.
