Howitzer vz.38 caliber 10 cm

A weapon of the Škoda system with a vertical wedge breech, developed by the joint-stock company Akciová společnost, formerly Škoda's plants in Pilsen, under the designation F-3 since the beginning of 1936 as the main artillery armament of heavy fortifications (designation weapon Y).
The original project was based on some components of the light howitzer vz. 30 caliber 10 cm, the final semi-automatic used structural elements of the cannon against the attacking vehicle vz. 36 caliber 4 cm.
The self-finished barrel of the weapon (cooled in the case of rapid-fire water baths) opened in the bullet screen of the loophole and had a semi-automatic closure. The ball screen was part of the cradle, which was mounted on a movable carriage resting through a frame on the floor of the shooting room, while on both sides of the carriage were spring balancers.
After the end of military tests, 87 weapons were ordered in the spring of 1938, but none of them were completed by September 1938. An impact grenade, a timing grenade, an armored grenade, shrapnel and a brush were to be used for firing.
