TILCAR
This 8x8, or was it 12x12?, vehicle was built by Bissett-Berman St. Monica California in 1965. The wheels were connected to each other (driven) by a roller chain.
TILCAR stands for Tactical Infantry Load Carrier Amphibious Remote.
The total payload capacity was 1 ton of cargo at an unladen weight of under a ton, which is respectable. The vehicle exhibited very good ground clearance. The remote-controlled version was supposed to represent mock-ups of enemy tanks with the appropriate superstructure and to serve for training tankers in shooting, but the army did not show interest in such a solution.
