Toto vyprosťovacie vozidlo na báze obrneného transportéru BTR-80 is manufactured at the Arzamaski Machine-Building Plant (Arzamasskiy машиностроительный завод) under the designation GAZ-59033.


It is used to extricate damaged armored personnel carriers and vehicles from an area under enemy fire and to tow them to a shelter or to an assembly area of damaged equipment. At the same time, its equipment enables effective provision of assistance in repairing combat equipment in field conditions. For these purposes, it is equipped with a winch and a set of hoists, a hand jib crane with a lifting capacity of 800 kg and also a cargo platform for placing containers with tools and spare parts weighing up to 500 kg. The vehicle is also equipped with a welding unit GD-304UZ (ГД-304УЗ) for cutting and welding steel plates. To improve stability, the BREM-K is equipped with an extendable ploughshare, which serves as a support when using a winch.


The transporter for its defense uses a machine gun PKT cal. 7.62 mm (7.62-mm пулемет ПКТ) lafeted in a rotating closed turret with a firing diameter of 1,500 rounds and a smoke device. For propulsion, a 260 hp KAMAZ-7403 (KAМАЗ-7403) diesel engine is used, with which the vehicle reaches a road speed of 80 km/h, with a maximum range of 600-800 km. The vehicle is floating and reaches a speed of 9 km/h on water.
