The highest honours in New Zealand for heroism. Designed primarily for civilian persons, it may, however, be granted even army members.
The cross is stříbrnný with a straight edge with the gold together star in each shoulder. In the middle is a gold wreath of new Zealand ferns and the inscription "New Zeleand". On the back is mentioned "FOR BRAVERY – MO TE MAIA". The ribbon is blue, 38mm wide..

Reginald John DIXON - for helping the next pasažerům the crashed plane. He suffered serious burns and injuries from two weeks later succumbed to. Awarded the Im-memoriam (09.06.1995).
