It is a portable "fire and forget" weapon with a range of 2,500 m. The PTRS is powered by a solid-fuel rocket engine and the flight trajectory, is guided in the upper group of angles, therefore the missile strikes the target from above. The missile can be equipped with a CCD day counter, or an IIR (Imaging Infra - Red) day and night counter. It is likely that two types of guidance warheads are manufactured and installed on cruise missiles. The missile has a tandem round warhead, which allows it to conduct effective fire even on tanks with dynamic armour.The GILL is the simplest and cheapest system of Rafael's trio of PTRKs. It is a portable system optimized for two-man operation, with one man carrying the launcher and the other carrying the two missiles. The de-fuzing device consists of a control unit (5 Kg), an infrared sensor (4 Kg), a tripod (3 Kg) and a battery (1 Kg). A single 1.2 m long missile has a mass of 13 Kg, which means that the whole kit in combat configuration weighs 26 Kg. Launching can also be done in confined spaces. The maximum effective range of the missile is 2 500 metres.
