SOV - BA-3

БА-3
BA-3

The design of the BA-3 dates back to 1934. Mass production began that same year and continued until 1935. During this time 168 vehicles were assembled.

The BA-3 marked a major advance in the development of medium and heavy armoured vehicles, most notably through the use of a tank turret with a modern and powerful gun. Unfortunately, the downside of the BA-3 was its weak engine and lack of a radio. The vehicles took part in fighting with the Japanese in Mongolia, in the invasion of Poland and in the Winter War. During the Winter War, Finland captured several BA-3s, which it continued to use.

One example of the BA-3 is preserved in the Kubinka Museum near Moscow.
