Note:

Projection study of an assault rifle of the bull-pup from 1975-76. It was based on the construction of Sa vz.58 . A functional sample was created using parts from the standard vz.58 . It was calculated using an optical sight.

Only on the basis of changes in the tactical and technical conditions of the conduct of combat, the bull-pup system began to be promoted in the most modern weapons included in the armament of Western armies. This stimulated the interest of our highest military circles in a novelty in the field of individual weapons, and so Research and Development Institute in Brno (later PROTOTYPA sp) was commissioned to design and manufacture a bull-pup experimental weapon based introduced weapons vz.58. All basic parts were used from the vz.58 weapon, with the exception of the stock, forearm and forearm. The wooden boot was attached directly to the back of the holster. The trigger with the stock moved forward into the space in front of the trigger guard, practically in place of the original forearm. The forearm was replaced by a trigger holder and stock, made of sheet metal profile and lightened by three large holes on each side. Just in front of the bow, in the area of the gas attachment, a new, very short forearm is attached under the barrel to hold the weapon with the other hand. The reinforced gas tube carries an aluminum holder of the collimator sight, constructed at the same time as a supporting handle, the muzzle of the barrel is equipped with a shock absorber, which also serves as a recoil compensator.
Due to the fact that the support point of the weapon (shooter's arm) is practically in a straight line with the extended axis of the barrel, it was necessary to experimentally increase the mechanical sights. The sight, the sight (and of course the axis of the optical sight) are therefore situated high above the axis of the barrel. It was experimentally determined to be the most suitable height of 100 mm, intentional length of 300 mm.
The weapon was tested not only the effect of the height of the sights and the length of the aim, but also the effect of lateral displacement of the front sight on the accuracy of fire. The recoil and movement of the muzzle, especially when firing, were compared with the values of the vz.58 submachine gun. Due to the fact that both weapons were chambered for the same charge and the weight of the basic functional parts of the mechanism was the same, the recoil of both weapons was practically identical. The same was the deflection of the mouth, especially for individual shots. The smaller deflection of the sample mouth upwards was compensated by a larger deflection to the right (due to the inappropriate height of the sights). At the dose, however, the sample was clearly better, especially in the vertical direction. This result was confirmed by comparative shots in unstable positions: in lying, for example, the sample was 27% better.
Even the promising test results were not enough for the workplace to be serious about the development of a new personal weapon of an individual using the bull-pup principle. (article taken from ATM 7/1993 by Ing. Jiří Fencl)

Diskuse

I'm working on my own bull-pup design for the 58, but I'm a little worried about how (where) to turn the trigger pull.
I've also considered an electronic trigger (which would allow the use of a specific personal protection function, using microelectronics) but there would always be some uncertainty about an unwanted shot. I would solve the battery charging with a dynamic generator.
How (where did they lead) pull the trigger at the prototypes?

The rod is guided by a milled groove on the left side of the breech case, I can find a photo somewhere.
