Series production began in 1957. The predecessor was the P-10(NATO code "Knife Rest B/C") surveillance radar with an antenna system consisting of 4 (2x2) YAGI antennas.
The radar was used as a surveillance radar of the S-75 Dvina, Volchov complex (NATO code SA-2 "Guideline")[/url
