COMBAT VEHICLE CREWMAN Nomex Overall/Coverall - USMC crew LAV25

The other two official names are :

US GI CVC Insulated Nomex Bib Overall

CVC Coveralls Combat Vehicle Crewman G.I. Issue MIL-C-44077

Photograph shows the crew of an LAV25 combat vehicle in deployment on the Iraq-Syria border. They are wearing an interesting combination of infantry helmet and NOMEX coveralls for LAV25 crews. This jumpsuit is based on the basic green colour type. It is derived from the aircrew coveralls. Nomex is a non-flammable mterial, developed after the Korean War. The crews are trained in street infantry combat on par with infantry units deployed in Iraq and often participate in operations alongside infantrymen.

The next two photos show Nomex heat pads, then crews using HD132 helmets during armoured combat and M25A1 gas masks for tankers. The same is true for the M1A1 USMC crews.
