Obrněný automobil nebyl přijat do výzbroje, ale armáda ho provozovala pod továrním označením: PA-II. Pojmy OA vz.23, nebo OA vz.25, uváděné v některých historických studiích nejsou platné! Podvozek shodný s PA-I.
The armored car was not accepted into service, but the army operated it under the factory designation: PA-II. The terms OA vz.23 or OA vz.25 mentioned in some historical studies are not valid! Chassis identical to PA-I. The produced PA-IIs received registration numbers: NIX-58 to NIX-69 (12 units). In 1927, vehicles NIX-67 to NIX-69 were sold to the Austrian police. The Austrian police designated these machines as Panzerauto 2 (P.A.2). In December 1932, the remaining PA-II was renumbered to 13,267 to 13,275 (9 units). On November 20, 1937, these vehicles were purchased by the Ministry of the Interior and allegedly received new registration numbers. In March 1939, these nine vehicles were taken over by the German occupation administration. At least one of the units taken over was converted into a Funkwagen and served with the SS-Division Das Reich (ex Deutschland).

The armoured Skoda PA-II was based on its predecessor Skoda PA-I. It featured an identical chassis, but was given a new modern rounded body. The design was reminiscent of a "tortoise/heifer", hence the more or less unofficial name. In 1923, 12 vehicles were ordered and these were delivered by the manufacturer between 12/1924 and 1/1925. The Army took them over but they were never officially accepted into armament and therefore did not receive the OA vz. 23 designation. The vehicles received the registration numbers NIX58 - NIX 69 (12 units), in 1927 three vehicles were sold to the Vienna Police and were renumbered 13267 - 13275 (9 units). When Skoda was allowed to sell the trio of machines to the Vienna Police, they were to receive a trio of newer PA-III (OA vz.27) as a replacement from Skoda. The machine was clumsy in the field due to its high weight and low ground clearance, and the fighting space was cramped. The vehicles actively participated in parades and exercises until 1937, in which year the remaining machines were sold to the Czech police. They also served the Vienna police in the suppression of the Nazi putsch of 1934, in which the Austrian chancellor was assassinated. The machines later continued to serve in various police units. Two of the vehicles were incorporated into the Austrian-Croatian 16th Police Armoured Company and were used in the riot police in Somobor, Croatia. Before the end of the war in 4/1945, the machines were probably depreciated and abandoned by the retreating garrisons. In 1927, a prototype of the PA-II-gun armoured car was built on the same platform.

Kuriózna fotografia stroja v nemeckých službách. Neviem,či sa jedná o rakúsky, či československý stroj. Stroj má namontovanú rámovú anténu. Nasadenie stroja bolo pravdepodobne mimo hlavných frontových línií, pravdepodobne v jednotkách na okupovaných územiach.

Diskuse
To the photo 7.7 it is a German machine, the unit marking on the right side is clear, the Austrians didn't use it as far as I know, the antenna is quite improvised, its lead is routed to the machine gun's gun

I was wondering what his origin was. The white rectangle could be a blacked out Czechoslovakian registration number, hmmm ?

I think it's a standard base under the WH number, the CS was painted over (if it was an original from our army) already when painted with that dark paint (probably "panzer grau" ) which covered the original mottled or light paint (our or Austrian) The license plate rectangles were commonly painted on armoured vehicles and it's just a question if the fact that there is nothing written there is because nobody did it or the censor intervened. But I don't believe in repainting the CS marking, it disappeared during the repainting (if it was there) You can't tell the difference between an "Austrian" and a "CS" machine by this, unfortunately.

Namiesto povzdychnutia nad nedostatkom článku, by som ťa poprosil doplniť tému.

bohužel, žádná česká policie v té době neexistovala a želvy nebyly dislokovány u policie ani v Praze, ani v Brně

Dokonca i zmienku o polícii.
A pls, uveď to v nejakom kompaktnom celku hodnom faktografického príspevku, nech môžem túto diskusiu z faktografickej témy vymazať.

Želvy byly u policejních úřadů v Moravské Ostravě, Liberci a Mostě.

The point is that I don't know what the structure and official names of the police forces were during the 1st Republic. If "Czech police" is an inappropriate name, it obviously needs correction. Detto the deployment of the individual machines. Yes the mention of the police is in Czechoslovak Vehicles and the location where the machines were located is from Pejcoch's OT 5. The information value is increasing, I hope it will not cease and the latest findings will not remain secret to us.
