In 5/1943 a project was created and at the turn of 1943/44 a prototype of an assault cannon, respectively. light tanker on a light tank chassis Turán.
The machine was inspired by German self-propelled guns Sturmgeschütz III.
The construction received a low superstructure, in which a powerful Hungarian tank cannon 43M L/43 developed by MÁVAG Diósgyör was mounted (the same cannon had a prototype tank 43M Turán III). It was based on the German tank 7.5 cm KwK 40. The construction of the fighter was the work of Weiss Manfréd. The prototype was built on the original prototype tank Turán I (id. No. H-801) made of unarmoured steel.
Sources state that a single prototype was made in 2/1944.
The beginning of serial production was stopped by the Allied air raid from July 27, 1944 on the factory Weiss Manfréd in Budapest.

Otto Várhelyi, an artillery sergeant from the staff of the Military Technical Institute behind the assault gun on which the 15-cm-Nebelwerfer 41 rocket launchers are mounted. The rocket launchers were probably operated from the interior of the vehicle. This mounting was probably done on an unarmored prototype Zrinyi II (ex. Turan I) of registration number H-801. However, it is possible that this unarmored prototype which was used for development projects was already equipped with a long anti-tank gun and would thus be a self-propelled gun in the form of the Zrinyi I tank interceptor. The photo would then have to be dated to 2/1944. Further details of this project are not mentioned in extant sources. Nor do they mention the results of the tests.

Diskuse

This weapon is named after the famous Croatian family Zrinski.
Unfortunately, I was unable to identify a specific person.
The Zrinski family held the high power post of Bán several times and took an active part in the anti-Turkish and later anti-Habsburg struggles.
The mines of Croatia, Dalmatia and Slavonia of the Zrinski family

1542 - 1556 Mikulas Zrinski (1508-1566)
1622 - 1626 Juraj Zrinski (Zrínyi)
1647 - 1664 Mikuláš Zrinski (Zrínyi) (1620-1664)
1665 - 1670 Peter Zrinski (Zrínyi)

Dear Sirs,
in my opinion, the royal and contemporary Hungarians are obsessed with the Croatian warrior and the royal viceroy Nikola Šubić-Zrinský (Croatian Nikola Šubić Zrinski, Hungarian Szigeti Zrínyi Miklós).

If I can answer for Jirka Wink - undoubtedly it is this Mikuláš Zrinský.

Nicholas Zrinsky was a famous Turcoman and fell in the heroic defence of Siget against the Turkish superiority - Suleiman the Magnificent died in the besiegers' camp.
