15 cm K2 howitzer for Romania

Brief history
In the early 1930s, Škoda developed the K howitzer for export, with a nominal calibre of 15 cm. The K1 version was developed for Turkey, the K1 Beta variant for Iran, and the K2 model was intended for the friendly armies of Yugoslavia and Romania.

Under the factory designation K2, 184 units were delivered to Romania in 1934-1939 in the motor-traction version. At present, no further details are known about the service in the Romanian Army, but according to memoirs, these were very accurate weapons. The howitzers that survived the DSV underwent chassis modernization and reportedly served into the 1960s. Then they were supposed to be transferred to the Romanian army reserves. However, one witness claimed that as late as 1988 he was still participating in live firing with md. 1934 howitzers at an artillery base near the town of Cincu.
