Also on the chassis of the Pz.Kpfw.IV a small series of dismounted/detachable vehicles was created at the end of WW2. Bergepanzers were created from damaged/refurbished tanks. The turret was removed from the tank and the bore was covered with a wooden crate with an equally wooden entrance hatch. The machine was to have a collapsible two-ton crane, a wooden clade and workshop equipment was to be carried on the hull and in the interior. Between 10/1944 - 3/1945, 21 Bergepanzer IV were to be built.

Additional information from Mr. Doyle: Reports dated 26 August 1944 stated the intention to produce Bergepanzer IV in numbers of 30 per month. All Pz.Kpfw. IV with the L/24 short gun, eventually versions with the L/43 and L/48 guns were to be used if necessary. However, records from the period 10/1944 to 3/1945 show the construction of only the aforementioned 21 dispersal tanks. As of 6/4/1945, the following Bergepanzer IVs were listed as available - Fg.Nr. 83945 (Ausf.G by Vomag, 2/1943) and Fgst.Nr. 84557 (Ausf.H by Krupp, 9/1943 - this was originally listed in the Kummersdorf Versuchstelle in 2/1944). Another from Fgst.Nr. 80625 (Ausf.D by Krupp 8/1940) - previously also on the Kummersdorf Versuchstelle list for Laufwerkversuch).
Mr Doyle identifies the only two known photos of Bergepanzer IV that have been posted in this thread for a couple of years. They are photographs of wrecks from the vicinity of Balaton, Hungary, 3/1945 (Soviet wreck registration numbers 211 and 274). My thoughts on where Mr. Doyle drew inspiration from to create the drawings are also explained in the post. He had the original original factory drawings at his disposal.

Diskuse
In the original source (Destroyed equipment at Balaton, Hungary 1945) where the photo comes from, this photo is referred to as an ammunition rebuild Pz.Kpfw.IV. It is quite possible that it is more likely a Bergepanzer IV.

Given the similarity to Mr. Doyle's drawings showing the appearance of the Bergepanzer IV and the lack of photographs of the actual machines, it is my opinion that these machines are indeed Bergepanzers. I don't know what sources Mr Doyle was basing this on. The lack of equipment (crane, wooden poles, etc.) may even be standard.
Bergepanzer IV ? Pravdepodobne však ide o muničnú alebo ad hoc dielenskú poľnú úpravu.

And what about the other theory, that the machines from the factory to podztatně differed from machine conversions,or better said, modified from the destroyed machines.Just it had been just the tractor,to the front line brought the ammunition back and damaged equipment.Workshops were in the second echelon.I doubt that at the front, where it was under fire of the enemy, was the possibility of opravovovat damaged equipment, maybe some little glitch. About Bergepantherech I zmýňku that to the defending unit brought ammunition, back took the damaged machine to a larger repair.I also speak about the ammunition vehicle. photo... http://panzer35.ru/forum/22-7372-1
This machine, also it doesn't seem like unloading ammunition.......

Súhlasím that be in a position existed poľné modifications, the town would be able to niesť building name Bergepanzer (I zopár install), or univerzálne dielensko/odťahové-zásobovacie vehicle. You could sa it nazvať ako Instandsetzugspanzer, Panzerschlepper or no.as a box. Lenže theme is of the type which mal niesť this konkrétne pomenovanie, mal mať pure elements characteristic of pre sériovú the production of do not you. ako eg. Bergepanzer III/Bergepanther and under..
