- v únoru odvolán ze své funkce ve Spolku čs. mediků
- ještě předtím byl v Německu (spolu se Skorkovským a Koulou), kde spolupodepsal dohodu o spolupráci s říšským vedením německých studentů
- v noci z 16. na 17. listopadu byl zatčen gestapem a 17. listopadu 1939 popraven v ruzyňských kasárnách
