Dear,
I took the liberty to take the contribution of colleagues bunkrologa, which to his inquiry, answered by the editors of the book as follows:

"Mr Srbe,
thank you very much for an interesting question. Certain performances of the army is within the concept of the book intended in the chapter "the Army and the defense of the republic", with further sub-aspects to this topic are mentioned continuously in some other relevant chapters (e.g. the New state in the middle of Europe, the Aftermath of the war, the Legionnaires and the falcons, we take of the masks, etc.). Sure the army deserved more space, but also a number of other topics and please believe that the formation of virtually all of the chapters were accompanied by often very painful cuts in texts. During the discussions in the editorial board of us in addition, it was clear that the book cannot be in all ways literal, that can not mention all the facts, and it is due to the limited scope of the book. On the other hand, we believe that the structure of the book may be interesting just in the sense that individual segments of the state and society is not given directly in the specific chapters, but shows it rather in the context of certain processes and phenomena. So, for example, political parties are also not dealt with in a special chapter, but their action and influence showing e.g. through key chapters on land reform (where it is shown, for example, the position of agrarians) or social legislation (the social democrats). The army and the question of the loyalty of soldiers is then shown, inter alia, through the events preceding Munich.
With best regards,
Pavel Horák and Dagmar Hájková, the editors of the book."
