The UAZ 469CH is a special version of the passenger SUV UAZ 469BI. It is a squad vehicle of the radiation and chemical reconnaissance squad and is designed to conduct radiation and chemical reconnaissance of march axes and roads during troop movement, terrain, deployment areas, to control contamination of personnel, combat equipment, food and water. The UAZ-469Ch vehicles were built in cooperation with the Czechoslovak military repair plants AOZ Zlatovce (reconstruction of the basic vehicle UAZ 469BI) and VOZ 072 Zemianske Kostoľany (assembly of instruments).

Chemical reconnaissance vehicle UAZ 469CH is an off-road vehicle with special equipment designed to carry out radiation and chemical reconnaissance. It is a combat vehicle of the radiation and chemical reconnaissance squad .

The Special equipment allows :

- Continuous detection and measurement of radiation levels in the field,
- detection of poisonous substances ( OL ) in the air, on combat equipment, terrain and field objects,
- indicative checking of the degree of contamination of the surface of persons, equipment, objects, terrain, food and water,
- delineation of contaminated areas,
- sampling of contaminated soil, water, etc,
- the dissemination of the results of radiation and chemical surveys,
- detection of nuclear explosion parameters.

Special vehicle equipment allows the crew to carry out radiation and chemical surveys while driving and during short stops from the vehicle.
