20.07.2022 Mariusz Blaszczak, Polish Minister of Defence, announced that the Armaments Agency (Agencja Uzbrojenia) has awarded the production of the first battery of wheeled tank missile interceptors with Brimstone missiles to the consortium Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ). The basis of the tank fighter is to be a chassis developed by Huta Stalowa Wola and Tatra Defence Vehicle, known as the 4x4 pojazd pancerny Żubr. The official name of the tank destroyer has not been disclosed. It is expected that the launchers for Brimstone missiles, command and reconnaissance vehicles will be built on the 4x4 KOT Żubr chassis. Other escort and logistics vehicles are expected to use chassis from the Jelcz factory. The PGZ consortium is expected to deliver prototypes for testing in 2023. It is expected that the army will take delivery of the first battery of tank destroyers in 2025.
Battery composition: 8 tank interceptors, 1 battery commander's vehicle, 2 squad leader vehicles, 2 reconnaissance vehicles, 2 armoured ambulances, 1 universal mobile repair vehicle, 1 universal mobile weapons and electronics repair vehicle.
