history

Arises at the base of Detling 20. march 1943 as a fighter-reconnaissance unit designed to cooperate with the 2. Corpus Polskim. Already in August through Egypt moved to Palestine, where they continue to be dedicated to training. In April of 1944, is transferred to Italy, and within the 285. wings (along with 92. squadrons of the RAF and 40. squadrons SAAF) finally plugs into the fighting. The main tasks to be fulfilled up to the end of the war, tactical exploration, cooperation with artillery and attacks on ground targets and fights off other over Monte Cassinem or Gótskou lines. In the postwar period remains until August 1946 in Italy. Then it is transferred to Great Britain and here is 12. December of the same year disbanded.

In the period between 1. may 1944, and 8. may 1945), performed the pilots of the squadron 4884 combat flights of a total duration of 6223 hour. Have lost 3 the fallen and one zajatého pilot. The other four pilots were killed or died during temporary transfer to the british surveillance perutím.
